Hipster Fish

Experimenting in Illustrator + Photoshop

I had the task of outlining a simple fish in illustrator and then making it uniquely my own. I went with a light pastel color palette inspired by paintings I found on Pinterest. I blended the colors to create a watercolor gradient effect on the fish’s body. I drew the scaly pattern to give more visual interest while making him more quirky. I created blurred abstract shapes on a gradient background. It’s as if he’s swimming in his unique, non-comforming hipster ocean.

Q: Why did the hipster burn his tongue?

A: Because he drank his coffee before it was cool.
